My Autumn Nostalgia!

Share

I am pretty sure that I love anything and everything about autumn. Since childhood autumn held some special niche in my heart. I am an Indian and I belong to Assam so autumn to me is a great celebration time. It’s all about Durga puja, new dresses, getting together with family and friends, super lovely holidays, and good delicious foods which include Elisha curry. The whole atmosphere is just filled with divinity and the warmth of love.  My passion towards literature and of course the English literature is behind my inclination towards nature and its seasons, mankind and its humanity, culture and its custom, and every tiny little thing that relates to human and nature.

Since last year, autumn has added some more and new meaningful thing to my life  as these days I dwell in California, autumn to me is about colorful leaves( especially maples), first frost, getting dark earlier, pumpkin and apple pie and above all Halloween celebration and so on. As temperatures and leaves begin to fall, this is a favorite time of year for outings. I love wearing Hoodies and cardigans, scarfs, and obviously boots. Strolling through the trees of changing leaf colors in reds, oranges, browns and yellows and stepping on crunchy leafs are simply amazing. Also, it’s a nice moment when I walk on a crisp evening at dusk, and seeing homes all warmly lit. Some days, I just want to sit on my porch in the evening, listening to the claps and laughter of my neighbors, the trailing twitter of the birds, and, having a chai latte. Oh! It is glorious. And, yes, that is my perfect time for listening to the lovely sounds of the Church bell that rings every evening.

When the evening is darker and quieter, after closing the windows and with the curtains down it’s time to celebrate the perfect autumn evening by lighting up some aromatic candles and beautiful cozy lamps.
